More than thirty years ago, I left the Dallas area with my husband—a Dallas fireman—and our three boys in search of a different pace of life. After spending several summers exploring the mountains, we discovered an old, long‑closed campground on the road to Wolf Creek Ski Area in South Fork, Colorado. We saw its potential immediately and purchased it in 1995, naming it Goodnight’s Lonesome Dove in honor of my husband’s ancestor, Charles Goodnight, the legendary cattleman who inspired the Lonesome Dove series. For 13 years we ran the campground and cabins—Gus, Laurie Darlin, Clare, and the rest—welcoming guests from all over the world. When we sold the business, my husband continued building homes, and I stepped into real estate.
With firsthand experience running a business, relocating from another state, and working with people from every walk of life, I knew I could truly serve those wanting to live, work, or invest in this remarkable area. I began my career with Land Properties LLC, the developers behind Bear Creek, Willow Park, River Island Ranch, the Rio Grande Golf & Fishing Resort, and even a project in Belize. When the company dissolved, I moved into general real estate and have been a top producer for many years. I genuinely love people, and nothing brings me more joy than helping someone find exactly what they’re looking for—whether it’s a vacation cabin, a second home, a ranch or farm, a full relocation, or the start of a new business in a place that has given my family so much.
